Popouts Section
Within your campaigns dashboard, there is a Popouts tab, which is where you will be managing the conditions that trigger your Popouts created.
Figure 1: Popout Section
In order to understand how to manage your campaign priority, we will be using the example of the following business, MaxFit Plumbing.
Case Study
MaxFit Plumbing is a plumbing business and it has a few services that it wants to promote, so they created the following Popouts:
1. Its normal business hours service which looks like the one below:
Figure 2: Popout Name - MaxFit Plumbing (uses Proof Points & Standard Details template)
2. Its Modern Reno services, which looks like the one below:
Figure 3: Popout Name - Maxfit Plumbing (UTM) (uses Testimonials & Enquiry Form template)
3. Its After Hours Care Team, which looks like the one below:
Figure 4: Popout Name - After Hours Service (uses Proof Points & Standard Details Template)
4. It also has created a Popout to redirect customers to their booking calendar, when they are fully booked out for the day.
Figure 5: Popout Name - Fully Booked (uses Testimonials & Calendly Event Scheduler
We will be looking at how to manage Popouts with the ones created for the case study above.
Base Popout
Figure 6: Base Popout
The Base Popout is the default popout that will appear one every page of your website that shares the root domain the Popout is attributed to. This one does not need to have a condition attached to it for it to appear, being the default.
Using the case study, we would be using the Popout meant for normal business hours as the Base Popout.
Adding Other Popouts through Add Special Conditions
This is where the magic happens. Special conditions are conditions that you set for your other Popouts to appear on your site.
For example, MaxFit Plumbing has a Special Renovations Popout (Popout Name - Max Fit Plumbing (UTM))that it wants to put on its renovations page. To set it up so that a user sees a different Popout, when they go to the renovations page, one would have to
- Click on 'Add Special Conditions'
Figure 7: Add Special Conditions button - You will be brought to the following screen:
Figure 8: Condition setting & Popout selection screen - Create a Title for the Popout: in this example, we will call it 'Modern Renovations Page'
Figure 9: Key in Title - We will then select the Special Condition which is to match the internal URL to where the renovations page is located
Figure 10: Select Condition & input condition value
Tip: when inputting the URL, please put in the full URL of the page - Choose the Popout that you would want to appear when this condition is met from the Popout Selection dropdown
Figure 11: Dropdown selection of all Popouts created - Click on your selection until you see its name appear in the box
Figure 12: Popout selected - Then click on Create at the bottom right of the screen.
Figure 13: Create button - The final result of this is that you will see your first conditional Popout appear in the Special Conditions Table.
Figure 14: Conditional popout - The most important thing would be to activate the status of the Popout so that you see the green toggle on the right.
Figure 15: Active status - If you were to head over to the MaxFit Plumbing website and go to your renovations page (as specified in your Internal URL field), you will see your Popout appear as per Figure 3 above.
- The other two popouts are created on the following conditions
- After Hours Care Team : This Popout will appear between 6pm - 6am AEST (refer Figure 4)
- Fully Booked Today: This Popout will appear on the weekends (refer Figure 5)
Managing Popout Priority Through Special Conditions Table
Figure 16: Special Conditions Table
The special conditions table is used to manage which Popout will show based on
- Active status first
- Order (evaluated from top to bottom)
- Meeting of the condition
The logic for how Popouts are shown on your website works like this:
- Show base Popout unless
- Special conditions are met below it.
- Evaluate the lower priority number condition first.
- If that condition is met, don't evaluate the condition after it.
- If unmet, then evaluate the next condition
Just to demonstrate how that works in this case study.
Case Study
Figure 16 shows 3 conditions, 2 of which are active and 1 is inactive.
Priority 1: Modern Renovations Page (Active)
Priority 2: Booked Out Today (Inactive)
Priority 3: After Hours Care Team (Active)
Let's just say it's Saturday 8 pm and a visitor comes to visit the homepage. Which Popout will he see? Is it
- The Base Popout (Figure 2)
- Modern Renovations Popout (Figure 3)
- Booked Out Today (Figure 5)
- After Hours Care Team (Figure 4)
Answer:
Figure 17: After Hours Care Team Popout
Why?
- It's not the base Popout (MaxFit Plumbing) because it will evaluate the special conditions below to trump it.
- It's not Modern Renovations Page (MaxFit Plumbing (UTM)) as we are not on the renovations page
- It's not Booked Out Today (Fully Booked) as even though it is the weekend and has a higher priority than After Hours, it is Inactive/Turned off
- It's after hours help team as that is evaluated as true, as 8pm is between 6pm and 6am
If I were to activate the Booked Out Today condition, then the Popout that will show would be the 'Fully Booked' Popout, as that priority is above After Hours.
Next Case Study
Figure 18: All conditions active
Let's just say it's Saturday 8 pm and a visitor comes to visit the renovations page. Which Popout will he see?
Is it
- The Base Popout (Figure 2)
- Modern Renovations Popout (Figure 3)
- Booked Out Today (Figure 5)
- After Hours Care Team (Figure 4)
Answer:
Figure 19: Modern Renos Popout
Why?
Once the first condition is evaluated as true, it will not look further to evaluate other conditions.
How To Rearrange Your Popout Priorities
All you need to do is to put your cursor over the three vertical lines on the far right column and your pointer will change into a hand. You can then drag the conditions up and down, as you please.

Things You Can Do On Each Row of The Special Conditions Table
Figure 21: Your options for each Special Condition Row
- Configure Conditions: You can re-edit the conditions for the selected Popout to trigger.
- Make as Base Popout: You can make this Popout the default Popout
- Duplicate Condition: You can duplicate this condition and work on a new Popout condition from there
- Edit Popout: You can edit the Popout directly and change its content or template
- Delete: You can delete the condition entirely. Deleting the condition will not delete the Popout you created.
