Before you Begin
Installing ConversionCow through Google Tag Manager requires the following:
- Access to your GTM account
- Administration access to your ConversionCow account
- Google Tag Manager Installed on your website
Installing ConversionCow on your Website via Google Tag Manager
- Download the ConversionCow Install - Google Tag Manager Template below:
Google Tag Manager Template Download - Login to Google Tag Manager
- Navigate to "Templates" on the left hand side
- Create a New Tag from the Tag Templates section
- Select the 3 dots > Import to import the ConversionCow Tag Template you downloaded in step 1
- Press Save on your new Tag Template and close the window (x in top left)
- Navigate to Tags section of Google Tag Manager
- Set the name for the tag and press the edit button
- Select to add your ConversionCow template as the tag configuration
- Add in your user code from ConversionCow Installation Page to your new Tag
- Select to add a Trigger
- Set your trigger to "Initialise - All Pages" and press Save
- Submit your changes to be published to your live website
- Publish your changes to your live website
- Success, your changes are now live on your website and installation complete
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my popout only show sometimes on my website, other times it doesn't show
A: With the Google Tag Manager install method, it's common any ad blocking or tracking blocking software installed on the devices browser may block the use of Google Tag Manager and as a result not show your popout.
Q: How do I tell if I have Google Tag Manager on my website?
A: You can use Googles supported browser extension Google Tag Assistant Companion, once installed will display any relevant tracking installed on the open browser. You can find out more on the Google Tag Assistant Companion Website
